-The Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, Mr. TIGRAN SARGSYAN  , invited Dr. Virachai Techavijit, Chairman of the Regent’s School, for an official meeting in the capital city of Yerevan on 3rd July 2009.  The Prime Minister proposed that the Regent’s School set up a sibling school in
     
Armenia with the same emphasis on the holistic education that has enabled the Regent’s School to acquire international renown for its adherence to the principles of the Round Square.  The Prime Minister also presented a certificate of appreciation to Dr. Virachai for his contribution in the education and grooming of 59 Armenian students since 2005 here at the Regent’s School, Thailand.  Many alumni are currently studying at premier universities including Cambridge, Exeter and the University of London.
 
During his visit (at the behest of the Ministry of Education Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Education and the Vice Mayor of the City of Yerevan, both of whom have children currently studying at the Regent’s School, Thailand) Dr. Virachai met the principals of 50 state high schools in Yerevan. He elucidated to the latter how the success of the holistic education offered by the Regent’s School, Thailand results from its consistency with both the IB and Round Square-oriented curricula.
 
The press conference held on the next day was televised by all major channels in the evening.
